  2. CONTROLLER PROGRAM UPGRADE

  3. 3 types program upgrade: • ID PCB • A type OD PCB • B type OD PCB PCB Program Upgrade

  4. ID PCB Upgrade • Short the Jumper JP1, JP3 ~ JP6 on the PCB • Connect the ID PCB and Gateway Turn on the upgrade software in PC and select parameters Upgrade Turn off the ID PCB power Revert the jumpers back to factory default setting after the completion of upgrade Power on

  5. A Type OD PCB Upgrade • Short the Jumper P1, P3 ~ P5 on the PCB • Connect the OD PCB and Gateway Turn on the upgrade software in PC and select parameters Turn off the OD PCB power Revert the jumpers back to factory default setting after the completion of upgrade Upgrade Power on

  6. B Type OD PCB Upgrade • Remove MCU board & short the Jumper P1 ~ P5 on the PCB • Connect the OD PCB and Gateway Turn on the upgrade software in PC and select parameters Turn off the OD PCB power Revert the jumpers back to factory default setting after the completion of upgrade Upgrade Install the MCU board & power on

  7. Starting Up & Monitoring Software • Smart Commander connecting A Series unit • Smart Commander connecting B Series unit

  8. Monitoring Software with A series • Connection of OD and PC • Start Smart Commander, select parameters • Connect communication • Monitor data

  9. Monitoring Software with B Series • Connection of OD and PC • Start Smart Commander, select parameters • Connect communication • Monitor data

  10. Common Problems & Solutions Possibilities of unsuccessful of upgrade: • Monitoring Software is still connecting • Wrong serial port is being selected • Wrong crystal frequency is being selected • Wrong ID & OD jumper setting • Wrong jumper setting of Gateway • The transformer of Gateway is abnormal • The Gateway is abnormal • ID & OD PCB is abnormal

  11. Common Problems & Solutions • Operation of Smart Commander problems: • Wrong serial port is being selected • Wrong baud rate is being selected • Wrong ID & OD jumper setting • Wrong OD address setting • Wrong jumper setting of Gateway • The transformer of Gateway is abnormal • Gateway is abnormal

  12. Common Problems & Solutions Malfunction of ID & OD communication: • Incorrect ID & OD jumper setting • Incorrect polarity of communication wire • JP7 is not shorted for the last ID • No power supply for ID • Incompatible of ID & OD program version • ID or OD PCB is abnormal • Communication wire is too long. Should not more than 1000m

  13. Precaution: • Complete jumper setting before power on, if not the setting will not be changed • Connect the communication wire before power on, don’t insert or pull out it when power on • Pull out the signal output slot when testing • Ensure the pin and socket is corresponded when installing the PCB • Incompatible of ID & OD program version • Ensure the dip-switch setting is correct • Follow the regulations & instructions in IM
