Uganda Operation • Jacobsen Uganda Power Plant Company Ltd (JUPPCL) has entered into a contract for the supply of energy to UETCL, the local public power utility in Uganda. • Under the agreement with UETCL and the Government of Uganda, JUPPCL will own and operate a 50 MW Heavy Fuel Oil power plant outside Kampala, Uganda on a BOOT basis. • Construction start of the plant was 1st of November 2007 and the plant will start operation in October 2008. Uganda Operation The duration of the Power Purchase Agreement is 6 years • JUPPCL has the full responsibility for fuel handling and operation & maintenance of the plant • Financing of the plant has been secured through loan agreements with Nordea Bank Norge AS and Stanbic Bank (Uganda). The project has also received support from NORAD on the transmission part JELCO AS
