August 24th- 28th Mrs. Walters’ Classroom News • Spelling words: • bag 6. fun • gas 7. fig • big 8. pit • bit 9. nip • tin 10. sip • Reading: Please read with your child every night for at least fifteen minutes. • Writing: Help your child learn to write complete sentences using the proper capitalization and punctuation. Story: The Big Top ELA: - consonants f, b, g, d, l, h -short i sound, short o sound -identify syllables -plot, realism and fantasy -story structure, questioning -verbs and simple sentences Math: Patterns for numbers to 10-Subtraction Social Studies: Rights and Responsibilities in a school setting • If you have not paid activity ($12) , PTO ($5), handwriting tablet ($2) fees, please do soon as soon as possible. FIRST CLASS TO GET ALL ACTIVITY FEES PAID WILL WIN A PIZZA OR NACHO PARTY! • Send in 2 proofs of residency • SEND IN YOUR BOX TOPS!!!!!! We are in competition with the other grades! • Please sign and return graded papers. • We will have Reading, Language, and Spelling tests every Friday. • Community Night is Monday, August 31st at the high school from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Labor Day Holiday! • Please get your constitution day t-shirt money in! Deadline is September 10th! • Progress reports will be sent home on Thursday! • Pep Rally Friday- send extra money for snacks and prizes!

I will send a separate letter home with information about that. • Students may dress up in their costumes on Friday.
