  1. MiraCosta’s F.E.T. course is a 2-week course which is taught by instructors known locally and, in some cases, nationally as being experts in their respective fields. The course is very hands-on and designed to assist the investigator in the identification, collection, and preservation of physical evidence featuring the latest techniques. It is a basic course for the patrol officer who is contemplating becoming an investigator for his/her department and is open to all students having a basic P.O.S.T. certificate as well as those currently employed as evidence technicians for law enforcement agencies. In addition to a certificate of competence, 1.5 units of college credit may be earned (ADM 915). The cost of the course is $130 MiraCosta College’s2009Field Evidence Technician CourseP.O.S.T.
