  5. Shift Happens Think about the Shift Happens video we saw during the first week of school. What struck you? What skills and habits are our students are missing?

  6. Habits/skills • Verbal instruction: move to hands-on • Pride and ownership of learning • Inquire about learning: inquisitive • Easily distracted • Lack perseverance • Expect things to come easier • Don’t give up • Stress management skills • Motivation: intrinsic (feel good about what you did) • Prior knowledge of skills

  7. Exemplary Lesson Find 2 other people who have the same lesson as you (they’re numbered) Take 10-15 minutes to complete the activity together
