MARPOL, ANNEX VI PREVENTION OF THE AIR POLLUTION FROM SHIPSNITROGEN OXYDE (NOx) EMISSIONS (Reg.VI/13) ALL DIESEL ENGINES OF 130 kW OUTPUT OR MORE INSTALLED ON SHIPS CONSTRUCTED ON/AFTER 1 JANUARY 2000 TO COMPLY WITH THE SPECIFIED NOx LIMITS AND WITH THE APPLICABLE PROVISIONS OF THE NOx TECHNICAL CODE EMERGENCY DIESEL ENGINES AND DIESEL ENGINES INSTALLED IN LIFEBOATS ARE NOT SUBJECTED TO THIS REGULATION

  5. MARPOL, ANNEX VI PREVENTION OF THE AIR POLLUTION FROM SHIPSSULPHUR OXYDE (SOx) EMISSIONS (Reg.VI/14) THE SULFUR CONTENT OF ANY FUEL OIL USED ON BOARD SHALL NOT EXCEED 4.5% m/m. IN SPECIAL AREAS (SOx EMISSION CONTROM AREAS), SUCH AS THE BALTIC SEA, THE SULPHUR CONTENT SHALL NOT EXCEED 1.5% m/m

MARPOL, ANNEX VI PREVENTION OF THE AIR POLLUTION FROM SHIPSVOLATLE ORGANIC (VOCs) COMPOUND (Reg.VI/15) IF THE EMISSIONS OF VOLATILE ORGANIC COMPOUNDS FROM CARGO TANKS OF OIL TANKERS ARE CONTROLED IN A PORT OR A TERMINAL, THE TANKERS SHALL BE EQUIPPED WITH A VAPOUR EMISSION CONTROL SYSTEM APPROVED BY THE ADMINISTRATION TAKING INTO ACCOUNT THE STANDARD DEVELOPPED BY THE IMO REFERENCE IS MADE TO MSC/Circ.585 STANDARD FOR VAPOUR EMISSION CONTROL SYSTEM

MARPOL, ANNEX VI PREVENTION OF THE AIR POLLUTION FROM SHIPSSHIPBOARD INCINERATION (Reg.VI/16) SHIPBOARD INCINERATORS INCINERATORS INSTALLED ON BOARD A SHIP AS FROM 1 JANUARY 2000 SHALL • COMPLY WITH PROVISIONS OF APPENDIX IV • BE APPROVED BY THE ADMINISTRATION AGAINST PROVISIONS OF RESOLUTION MEPC.76(40)

MARPOL, ANNEX VI PREVENTION OF THE AIR POLLUTION FROM SHIPSSHIPBOARD INCINERATION (Reg.VI/16) PROHIBITION OF THE INCINERATION OF THE FOLLOWING SUBSTANCES : • RESIDUES FROM MARPOL ANNEX I, II AND III CARGOES • POLYCHLORINATED BIPHENILS (PCBs) • GARBAGE CONTAINING TRACE OF HEAVY METALS • REFINED PETROLEUM PRODUCTS CONTAINING HALOGEN COMPOUNDS

MARPOL, ANNEX VI PREVENTION OF THE AIR POLLUTION FROM SHIPSFUEL OIL QUALITY (Reg.VI/18) THE FUEL USED ON BOARD SHIPS SHALL MEET THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA : • IS BLENDS OF HYDROCARBONS DERIVING FROM PETROLEUM REFININGS • IS FREE FROM INORGANIC OIL • DOES NOT INCLUDE ADDED SUBSTANCES OR CHEMICAL WASTES

MARPOL, ANNEX VI PREVENTION OF THE AIR POLLUTION FROM SHIPSFUEL OIL QUALITY (Reg.VI/18) THE FUEL USED ON BOARD SHIPS DOES NOT : • EXCEED THE SULPHUR LIMITS OF 4.5% m/m (or 1.5% m/m) • CAUSE AN ENGINE TO EXCEED THE NOx EMISSION LIMITS • CONTAIN INORGANIC ACID • JEOPARDIZE THE SAFETY OF THE SHIP OR AFFECT THE PERFORMANCE OF THE MACHINERY, • IS NOT HARMFULL TO THE PERSONNEL • CONTRIBUTE OVERALL TO ADDITIONAL AIR POLLUTION

MARPOL, ANNEX VI PREVENTION OF THE AIR POLLUTION FROM SHIPSFUEL OIL QUALITY (Reg.VI/18) BUNKER DELIVERY NOTE • RECORDING OF DELIVERY OF FUEL TO BE USED ON BOARD • CONTAINS INFORMATION AS PER APPENDIX V • TO BE KEPT ON BOARD FOR INSPECTION FOR A PERIOD OF THREE YEARS • TO BE ACCOMPANIED BY A SAMPLE OF FUEL TO BE KEPT ON BOARD FOR NOT LESS THAN TWELWE MONTHS

  12. MARPOL, ANNEX VI PREVENTION OF THE AIR POLLUTION FROM SHIPSFUEL OIL QUALITY (Reg.VI/18) LOCAL FUEL OIL SUPPLIERS • TO PROVIDE BUNKER DELIVERY NOTE AND SAMPLE OF FUEL OIL • TO KEEP COPY OF THE BUNKER DELIVERY NOTE FOR THREE YEARS

MARPOL, ANNEX VI PREVENTION OF THE AIR POLLUTION FROM SHIPSFUEL OIL QUALITY (Reg.VI/18) DUTIES OF THE AUTHORITIES • TO MAINTAIN A REGISTER OF LOCAL SUPPLIERS OF FUEL OIL • TAKE ACTION AGAINST SUPPLIERS NOT DELIVERING FUEL COMPLYING WITH BUNKER DELIVERY NOTE • INFORM ADMINISTRATION OF SHIP RECEIVING FUEL OIL NON COMPLIANTINFORM IMO OF CASES WHERE OIL SUPPLIERS HAVE FAILED TO SUPPLY ADEQUATE FUEL OIL

MARPOL, ANNEX VI PREVENTION OF THE AIR POLLUTION FROM SHIPSAPPLICATION (Reg.I and 19) THE PROVISIONS OF THE ANNEX APPLY TO ALL SHIPS PLATFORMS AND DRILLING RIGS: • SHALL COMPLY WITH THE PROVISIONS OF THE ANNEX • EMISSIONS ARISING FROM EXPLORATION, EXPLOITATION, AND ASSOCIATED OFFSHORE PROCESSING OF SEA-BED MINERAL RESSOURCES ARE EXEMPT FROM THE PROVISION OF THE ANNEX

MARPOL, ANNEX VI PREVENTION OF THE AIR POLLUTION FROM SHIPSCERTIFICATION (Reg.6): IAPP CERTIFICATE NEW SHIPS OF 400 GT AND OVER • SHALL HOLD AN IAPP CERTIFICATE AT THEIR DELIVERY EXISTING SHIPS (CONSTRUCTED BEFORE 19 MAY 2005) • SHALL HOLD AN IAPP CERTIFICATE AT NEXT SCHEDULLED DRY DOCK BUT NOT LATER THAN 19 MAY 2008

MARPOL, ANNEX VI PREVENTION OF THE AIR POLLUTION FROM SHIPSSCOPE OF THE CERTIFICATION SHIPS CONSTRUCTED ON/AFTER 1/01/00 OF 400 GT AND OVER • OZONE-DEPLETING SUBSTANCES (Reg.VI/12) • NITROGEN OXIDE (NOx) EMISSIONS FROM DIESEL ENGINES (Reg. VI/13) • SULPHUR OXIDE (SOx) EMISSIONS FROM SHIPS (Reg.VI/14) • VOLATILE ORGANIC COMPOUND (VOCs) EMISSIONS FROM CARGO TANKS OF OIL TANKERS (Reg.VI/15) • SHIPBOARD INCINERATION OF WASTE (Reg.VI/16) • FUEL OIL QUALITY (Reg.VI/18)

  18. MARPOL, ANNEX VI PREVENTION OF THE AIR POLLUTION FROM SHIPSSURVEYS (Reg. VI/5) • INITIAL SURVEY • PERIODICAL SURVEYS (INTERVAL NOT EXCEEDING FIVE YEARS) • INTERMEDIATE SURVEYS (A MINIMUM OF ONE, 6 MONTHS BEFORE TO 6 MONTHS AFTER THE HALFWAY DATE OF THE CERTIFICATE PERIOD OF VALIDITY) • MANDATORY ANNUAL SURVEYS/UNSCHEDULLED INSPECTIONS

  19. MARPOL, ANNEX VI PREVENTION OF THE AIR POLLUTION FROM SHIPS NOx TECHNICAL CODE PRE-CERTIFICATION OF THE ENGINE : EIAPP CERTIFICATE PRE-CERTIFICATION OF DIESEL ENGINE • ENGINE ADJUSTED SO AS TO MEET THE APPLICABLE NOx EMISSION LIMITS • NOx EMISSION MEASURED ON A TEST-BED (CHAPTER V) OF THE CODE • ISSUANCE OF AN ENGINE AIR POLLUTION PREVENTION CERTIFICATE (EIAPP)

  20. MARPOL, ANNEX VI PREVENTION OF THE AIR POLLUTION FROM SHIPS NOx TECHNICAL CODE CERTIFICATION OF THE ENGINE PRE-CERTIFICATION (EIAPP) TECHNICAL FILE APPROVED BY THE ADMINISTRATION ON BOARD VERIFICATION SURVEY
