  5. Mass Downtown Initiative (MDI) • Range of services and assistance for downtown revitalization • “Desktop” TA – On-going assistance; How To… • Education and Training - Workshops • TA Site Visit – Non-Entitlements: Up to $10,000 in consultant services • Contact program coordinator 617-573-1400

Priority Development Fund • Planning assistance to help communities increase housing production • One-third reserved for smart growth overlays under Chapter 40R • Cities and Towns • Applications on a rolling basis up to $50K • Go to DHCD website for more detail and application - www.mass.gov/dhcd

  7. CDBG – What Is It • Federal Formula Grant Program – HUD • Approx $33 Million annually – State to Communities • Allocate award to four program components based on determination of need • Non-Entitlement Communities • Grants are awarded to communities on a competitive basis annually

How it works continued • Applications evaluated on Need; Impact Community Involvement; Feasibility (readiness to proceed) • Applications On – Line in February • Typical awards are between $700K and $900K for single or multiple activity grants • Eligible activities include: Planning; Housing/Commercial rehab; Infrastructure improvements; Construction/Rehab of community facilities; Public Social Services
