  5. What should the Media/Technology ministry provide for the Church? • Enhancement of the worship experience • Provide tools for the staff of the church to make technology they use user friendly

  6. Volunteers • No matter what size your church is, volunteer”s” are needed! Why? • The one person that is doing all of it will get burnt out. • It is almost impossible to run sound/lights/video/computers/website all on your own, and do it effectively. • To allow people in your church to use their physical gifts that Christ has given them to enhance worship.

  7. Scheduling • Keep your volunteers informed • Schedule on a monthly basis. • Try not to schedule a volunteer more than one or two times a month. • Do it early so they can prepare. • Ask if there is a week when they are not going to be able to make it.

  8. Event Forms • Most of the time the media team is the last to know about a event • The event form provides a way to coordinate with each ministry

  13. Presentation Software: A help not a distraction • Presentation software should enhance the worship experience. • Be consistent with slides. • No Crazy fonts. Make sure it can be read. • Two to three lines of a song per slide is good. • Make sure the font you use is readable • Shadow is good to turn on when using lighter backgrounds with white text • Backgrounds can tell a story. • Make sure to advance slides on time!

  14. Order of Service/Tech Sheets • What is a Tech Sheet? • Tech sheets really help the volunteers to know what is going on and prepare for the next step of the service. • Be informative but short and to the point • Providing times allows for a good guestimate of how your service will flow. • Tech Meetings are good to have before the service begins • Include Tech in Rehearsals. It is just as important to rehearse

  15. Website Management: • Your Website should be a avenue to people in your church as well as appealing to someone who knows nothing about your church • User Friendly • Website content should always be changing for your users to want to come back to the site • Events updated. • When a event is over make sure it comes down quickly • Integrate with facebook and twitter • Keep up to date!!!!!!

  16. Software: • What kind of software do I need? • How much is it going to cost? • Are there free alternatives?

  17. Helpdesk • Organized • Streamlined • Quick Response • Prioritize • Plan • No one gets left out!

  18. Collaboration • Email • Instant Messaging • Calendars

  19. Hardware • What kind of hardware do I need? • How much will it cost? • When will I need a server? • Keep it clean!
