  1. Chapter 6 Minitab: Putting probability to work

  2. Select the Probability Distributions option from the Calc menu and choose Binomial from the sub-menu. The binomial distribution

  3. For the probability of picking one female in a team of three in Example 6.1 select Probability, make the Number of trials 3 and the Event probability 0.5. Choose Input constant, type 1 in the adjacent space then click OK.

  4. The probability appears in the session window.

  5. Select the Probability Distributions option from the Calc menu and choose Poisson from the sub-menu. The Poisson distribution

  6. For the probability that three or fewer require treatment in an hour in Example 6.7 choose Cumulative probability and type 2 beside Mean. Choose Input constant: and type 3 into the adjacent space. Click OK.

  7. The probability appears in the session window.
