  18. 100% secure and private • Only you, your students and any parents you choose to invite can view your page. It is NOT open to the public. • Any response posted by a student is seen by you. They can not chat with one another privately. • Students can reply directly to you or to the entire class with their responses.

  19. E-Safety • Children can only access and send messages to their group. • No private messaging between children. • No strangers can “friend” children. • Messages appear instantly, but can be edited or deleted by staff if necessary.

Drawbacks? • Edmodo’s grading system is not yet as user friendly as E-School Plus • Students under 13 can not legally receive e-mails or text messages from Edmodo under COPPA (Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act) statutes. • Students can not view posted YouTube videos here at school, as the site is blocked for them.
