  4. What is Phonetics? Phonetics = Phone + tics Phone :- speech sounds of human Tics :- scientific study or systematic study Phonetics is the branch of linguistics that deals with the sounds of speech and their production, combination, description, and representation by written symbols.

  10. Intonation & Accent • Words are stressed on the basis of syllables and their parts of speech • Nouns and Adjectives are stressed on first syllable • Verbs are stressed on the second syllable • Intonation is stressing in the context of sentence and meaning it conveys.
