How To Access The Modular Messaging System Accessing the Modular Messaging System from your office phone • Dial extension 1771or Press the VoiceMailbutton on your phone. • Enter your password and press # key. The first time you access the messaging system, enter the temporary password (5111), followed by the # key. Accessing the Modular Messaging System from another extension • Dial extension 1771or Press the VoiceMailbutton. • If the extension has its own mailbox, press *# key.  (If the extension does not have its own mailbox, press # key, followed by your mailboxnumber. • Enter your password and press # key.

Accessing the Avaya Modular Messaging System from off campus • Dial 526-1771. • When prompted, press # key. • Enter your mailboxnumber and press # key. • Enter your password and press # key. Exit your mailbox Press **9. You will hear the system say “Goodbye.”

  5. How To Set Up Your Mailbox The Modular Messaging system will lead you through a new user tutorial to setup your mailbox. The tutorial only plays the FIRST time you access voice mail from your phone. Changing your password • Login to your mailbox. • From the Main Menu, press 5. • Press 4. • Enter a number (minimum of 4 digits) to use as your password, followed by the # key. • Enter your password again and press # key.

  6. How To Set Up Your Mailbox, cont. Recording your name • Login to your mailbox. • From the Main Menu, press 5. • Press 5 again and record your first and lastname. • When finished, press 1. The system will play your name for you to hear. • Press # key to approve the recording or press 1 to re-record.

  7. How To Set Up Your Mailbox, cont. Recording your personal greeting • Login to your mailbox. • Press 3. • Press 1 and record your personal greeting. (Press 2 for your extended absence greeting.) • Press # key to approve your greeting or press 1 to re-record. Note: When active, extended absence greetings override your personal greeting. Avaya Modular Messaging alerts you each time you login that this greeting is active. You will then be asked to keep this greeting or turn it off. If you turn it off, your extended absence is deleted and your personal greeting becomes active.
