Impact • CURVE influences every part of the university’s business • It helps to improve the quality, availability, discoverability, management, security and usability of all the university’s digital learning, teaching and research assets • CURVE is integrated into our staff development programmes, project development work, corporate strategy and academic policies.

Interoperability • CURVE is at the heart of our Technology Enhanced Learning Environment • It needs work smoothly with all the other core components of CUOnline2 • We want to take full advantage of open educational resources; but we need to be good citizens and make a worthwhile contribution ourselves • Interoperability is not just a technical issue.

CURVE development prompts individuals, departments and the university to re-think what needs to be done to protect, exploit and share digital assets It promotes a shift from “my stuff” to a towards collaborative content development It extends conceptions of “content” beyond lecture notes and presentation slides CURVE is central to developing the university’s new curriculum. Standards may feature strongly in the life of learning development professionals, but for lecturers they can get in the way; CURVE helps make standards invisible The Learning Edge is a global product embracing global standards Our collaboration with The Learning Edge and JISC has taken the issue of standards up the Coventry agenda. Partnership • CURVE is the result of a cross-university working partnership which has brought together librarians, dancers, IT developers, nurses, learning developers, researchers... • Externally, CURVE has been developed in partnership with The Learning Edge, the JISC Repositories Programme, other Equella users... • Inter-professional working has been the key to CURVE development.
