  1. FIRE RETARDANT SYSTEMS AND SOLUTIONS Marketed by :

  2. INTRODUCTION • We at Multi kilfire believe strongly in the adage “PREVENTION IS BETTER THAN CURE”. Active Fire Systems which include hydrants, sprinklers & smoke detectors, come into play only after the fire breaks out; whereas Passive Systems help in preventing and retarding fires. While Passive systems cannot be considered to be an alternative to Active systems, they definitely rationalize the need for extensive deployment of Active Systems. A marriage between both types of systems is not only physically safer but also more cost effective.

  4. FIRE RETARDANT COATING FOR ELECTRICAL CABLES – KF600

  5. EFFECTIVENESS OF FIRE RETARDANT COATING Functions by limiting the oxygen drawn from the atmosphere, thereby inhibiting the combustion and heat build-up process in the immediate vicinity of the cable insulation. The coating converts the bunch of cables into one coated cable and compartmentalizes an uncoated fire zone from the coated non – fire zone. Dissipates the heat generated by the fire and thereby prevents heat conduction.

  23. DESCRIPTION

  24. TECHNICAL DATA

  25. Single Component non – combustible system. Designed for 3 (three) hour fire rating. Segregates / compartmentalizes fire and non – fire zones. Compatible with all types of cable jacketing material. No effect d ue to vibration, impact and radiation. Mechanically strong and can bear drop loads. Retrofitting very easy without special tools. Conforms to Indian and International standards. No imported components. Indigenously developed. Maintenance free. Asbestos fre e. Expected life – will last the life of the cable.

  26. FIRE TEST AT CBRI ROURKEE • Electrical cables are extensively used in all major industries. These are mostly run through underground cable tunnels, trenches, overhead cable trays and ducts. Any fire incidence in the vicinity of these may result in spread of fire along the cable trays as modern production facilities demand long run of power and control cables all over the Plant area.

  27. FIRE TEST AT CBRI ROURKEE • The fire safety can be enhanced by providing Fire Stop Barriers at different intervals and by sealing the openings. • The complete cable Barrier should be thoroughly evaluated before its installation for providing compartmentation

  28. FIRE TEST AT CBRI ROURKEE • We sponsored the Project to evaluate the performance of our cable Fire Barrier KF-604 with respect to furnace heating conditions and other appropriate procedures specified in relevant Standards. • The Fire Research Laboratory at Rourkee approved by CSIR Laboratory has established standard facilities conforming to various National and International Standards for evaluating Fire Resistance of different type of systems.
