  1. Topic 2: Introduction to CMOS Technology 20marks-Implement CMOS logic and logical equations.-Comprehend CMOS processing Technology

  2. What is a CMOS • Complimentary Metal Oxide Semiconductor. • It’s a logical transistor to perform logical functions. • CMOS is a combination of Two Transistors. i.e. • PMOS & NMOS.

  3. Complementary metal–oxide–semiconductor, abbreviated as CMOS , is a technology for constructing integrated circuits. CMOS technology is used in microprocessors, microcontrollers, static RAM and other digital logic circuits. The words "complementary-symmetry" refer to the fact that the typical design style with CMOS uses complementary and symmetrical pairs of p-type and n-typemetal oxide semiconductor field effect transistors (MOSFETs) for logic functions. Two important characteristics of CMOS devices are high noise immunity and low static power consumption

  4. PMOS

  5. NMOS

  6. CMOS

  7. Circuit Elements Resistors: Polysilicon is used to fabricate the Resistors as undoped Polysilicon is Highly Resistive. This property is used to build resistors in Static memory cell. These resistors have excellent temperature stability and high reliability.

  8. Capacitors • One or more extra layers of Polysilicon is added to switched capacitors which are used for dynamic memory cells.
