Polymeric Type 3 and Type 4 Multi Use Games Area Surfacing We recommend Polymeric rubber type 3 and type 4 surfacing for heavy duty areas. This surfacing meets the performance requirements classified by Sport England in conjunction with ‘The Sports and Play Construction Association’ (SAPCA). Type 3 Polymeric surfacing has great non-slip properties and is ideal for tennis and netball whereas Type 4 delivers a porous resilient surface which is suitable for multi- sports including football, basketball and hockey. Coloured line markings are then added for the chosen sports.
