Warp Films producer sets up film and TV indie - The Talent Manager Bafta-winning film and TV producer Mary Burke has unveiled a scripted indie with a launch slate that includes a BBC thriller and a remake of a classic movie. Joining Burke at Public Dreams are development producer Nicky Stean (Nowhere Boy, Wuthering Heights, Mistresses)who joins from Ecosse Films, and development exec Radha Bhandari (For Heidi). Burke has spent 13 years as a producer for Warp Films, with credits ranging from God’s Own Country to Submarine and Saint Maud, plusrecent releases The Phantom of the Open and Brian and Charles to TV shows such as E4 comedy Midnight Beast and MTV’sFur TV. She also spent five years allocating investments from the BFI Film Fund as senior executive in production and development. Public Dreams’ launch slate includesTargets, a comedy-horror/political drama series from writer/director Amrou Al-Kadhi (The Watch, Hollyoaks) currently in development at the BBC. It is also developing a yet-to-be-revealed film remake with StudioCanal and projects with The Crown actor Josh O’Connor andSeverance writer/director Aoife McArdle, and has optioned Kate Davies’ debut novelIn At The Deep End.
