  1. First term project: The three vital functions of: Dromedary and spiky malaysian plant . By Héctor, Irina and Rubén .

  2. The dromedary has eukaryotic cells and animal cells. Type of cells

  3. Nutrition Obtaining nutrients: • Food is crushed by the teeth. The molecules are broken down. • Nutrients are absorbed and carried to the cells. • The rest of the food is eliminated (excretion).

  4. Nutrition (II) • Breathing: Theytakeoxygenfromthe air bylungs. • Circulation: They are complexanimals. Bloodinterchangessubstancesbetweenthecells. Thevessels and theheartthankscontraction and dilation. • Excretion: Throughexchangesurfaces (kidneys). Kidneysfiltersthebloodextractsthewaste and produce urine.

  5. Interaction • It receives information through stimuli by the receptors for each type of stimulus. For capturing light, photoreceptors; for detecting heat thermoreceptors. Mechanoreceptors for detectimg senstive vibrations and forces and chemoreceptors: detectors of substances. • All the whole organisms carry out the response because the cells are capable of responding to stimuli individually. • Made by the effectors.

  6. Reproduction • The type of reproduction is: sexual reproduction: This means that they need a male and a female to have a baby. It consists in: - Gamete formation. - Fertilisation. - Develovement of zygote.

  7. Type of cells • Spiky malaysian plant has eukaryotic and plant cells so they perform photosyntesis.

  8. Nutrition 1. Water and mineralssaltsentersthroughthe roots. CO2 entersthroughstomata and photosynthesistakes place in the chloroplasts. 2. Plantabsorbsoxygen in themitochondriato getenergyfromthecarbohydrates. 3. Substances are transportedthroughvessels whichrunalong de stem and thebranches. 4. Oxygenfromphotosynthesisiseliminatedthrough stomata and alsothe CO2 fromtherespiration. Cannabis storewastesubstances in oldleaves and thenthey eliminatethem.

  9. Interaction • Spiky malaysian plant has a simple perception of information. It practises tropisms like phototropism (grow towards the sun). • They coordinate when they grow towards the sun because is the only movement they practise. • They react to water growing towards the sun and preforming photosynthesis.

  10. Reproduction • Spiky malaysian plant is most commonly reproduced sexually because of the seeds that fall into the ground and grow with rain water. It doesn’t use pollen to reproduce.
