  17. John 1:14, “The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us…” • Jesus life portrayed God’s message • Your life must carry the content of the Gospel • don’t just talk about God’s love - you love • don’t just preach forgiveness - you forgive Lesson 12: Witnessing

  18. John 1:14, “The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us…” We reflect the gospel in our lifestyles. Though we are not perfect, the evident change in our lives speak louder than any words of the truth in the message we carry. Lesson 12: Witnessing

  19. How to do witnessing? 5 In Samaria Jesus came to the town called Sychar, which is near the field Jacob gave to his son Joseph. 6 Jacob’s well was there. Jesus was tired from his long trip, so he sat down beside the well. It was about twelve o’clock noon. John 4:5-30

  20. How to do witnessing? 7 When a Samaritan woman came to the well to get some water, Jesus said to her, “Please give me a drink.“ 8 (This happened while Jesus’ followers were in town buying some food.)

  21. How to do witnessing? 9 The woman said, “I am surprised that you ask me for a drink, since you are a Jewish man and I am a Samaritan woman.“ (Jewish people are not friends with Samaritans. ) 1. Establish Relationship

  22. How to establish relationship? 12 Are you greater than Jacob, our father, who gave us this well and drank from it himself along with his sons and flocks?“ • talk about his/her point of interest

  23. How to establish relationship? 10 Jesus said, “If you only knew the free gift of God and who it is that is asking you for water, you would have asked him, and he would have given you living water.“ 11 The woman said, “Sir, where will you get this living water? The well is very deep, and you have nothing to get water with. • talk about his or her point • of interest

  24. How to do witnessing? 13 Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, 14 but whoever drinks the water I give will never be thirsty. The water I give will become a spring of water gushing up inside that person, giving eternal life.” 2. Share the gospel by relating to his/her point of interest

  25. How to do witnessing? 15 The woman said to him, “Sir, give me this water so I will never be thirsty again and will not have to come back here to get more water.“ 3. Lead him/her to a prayer of acceptance

  26. How to do witnessing? 16 Jesus told her, “Go get your husband and come back here.“ 17 The woman answered, “I have no husband.“ Jesus said to her, “You are right to say you have no husband.18 Really you have had five husbands, and the man you live with now is not your husband. You told the truth.” 4. Lead him/her to a prayer of confession

  27. How to do witnessing? 21 Jesus said, “Believe me, woman. The time is coming when neither in Jerusalem nor on this mountain will you actually worship the Father. 22 You Samaritans worship something you don’t understand. We understand what we worship, because salvation comes from the Jews

  28. How to do witnessing? 23 The time is coming when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, and that time is here already. You see, the Father too is actively seeking such people to worship him. 24 God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.“

  29. How to do witnessing? 24 God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.“ 5. Lead him/her to a life of faith and worship

  30. How to do witnessing? 28 Then the woman left her water jar and went back to town. She said to the people, 29 “Come and see a man who told me everything I ever did. Do you think he might be the Christ?“ 30 So the people left the town and went to see Jesus. 6. Help him/her share to others his/her new life
