PDEX is an end-user tool which uses the WebServices interface to the API to load Excel data into OPPM PDLU is a scheduled batch process capable of importing (from System A in the diagram) and exporting (to System B) data to data files in a format defined by the associated xml configuration file. PDLU runs on the OPPM application server and directly accesses the OPPM API Excel Work Books PDEX (Portfolios Data Exchange) XML Config (System A) Data File (System A) OPPM PDLU (Portfolios Data Load Utility) The third example shows the direct application-application integration using WebServicesfor “real-time” message based updates Web Services NIHR system with Web Services Interface API Data File (System B) XML Config (System B) Web Services
