  1. By: Megan Dark Woods This is a choose your own adventure book. In this book you will make the choices. But your choices will not always lead to a happy ending. You could end up dead, embarrassed, or a hero.

  2. There you are, sitting in Sabbath Mansion. The place that you now know to be home, the reason was that your father had to be transferred to Natal, Wisconsin because of his work. The mansion is huge! There were three floors with at least five rooms on each floor. There were two grand staircases, four large balconies and a huge kitchen filled with brand new appliances. The floors were all tile or cherry hardwood. You’d never seen such a grand place, let alone lived in one! You’re sitting on the tan leather couch; you feel the chill that always seeps into the mansion no matter what season it is. You’re watching your favorite show in the large second story den when you hear a loud shriek. “What was that?” You say, a little fear in your voice. It makes a chill run along your spine; it’s a human scream. You feel panic tighten in your stomach as you look around cautiously. You only see the room around you, and everything in it is normal. You could go outside to see where the scream came from but it could have been a wild animal too. Or you could stay in the mansion and pretend like you never heard the scream. If you choose to go outside click here. If you choose to stay inside click here.

  3. You get up off the couch, a sensation like butterflies starts to tickle your stomach. ”I’m crazy!” you whisper. You walk down the hall to the cascading staircase. You tiptoe down it, not want to disturb the silence of the mansion. When you reach the door you slip on your boots and coat. Outside the ground is sparkling with frost in the silver moonlight. You don’t see anyone but when you think of the direction the noise came from you look towards the woods. They were dark and very unwelcoming but you’re positive that is where the noise came from. There had been many rumors around the town of children getting lost and coming back petrified of their own shadows. Most people just through they were exaggerating but you could never be sure. You breath deeply trying to make the decision. You’ve never been in the woods before plus it’s dark, you could easily get lost. But you could also just stay in the yard but still investigate around…. If you choose to stay in the yard click here. If you choose to go into the woods click here.

  4. You decide to forget about the scream. You get up to go make popcorn. You pop your headphones in and walk downstairs to the kitchen. “La, la, la!” You sing-completely off key. The music still blaring in your ears. You take the blue and white bag out of the creaky cupboard and put it on the clear microwave plate, bobbing your head to the music pouring from your headphones. You set the timer and grab your phone. You are in mid text when the microwave bursts, sending metal shards everywhere in the kitchen. The next mornings’ headline were Microwave Recalls! The End

  5. You decide to stay in the yard. You start to investigate around, looking at the edge of the woods, in the shed, and near the gate. “Not there!” You grumble as you walk. You walk into the garden. You check behind the spiked rose bushes and the sparkling frozen tulips. You turn around and trip in a rabbit hole. You fall right onto the rake, sending it through your chest. The End.

  6. You decide to follow the scream into the dark unwelcoming woods. The ground crunches slightly underfoot as the black ash trees loom high over. You as you make your way through the darkness, the moonlight helping you along. You hear heavy breathing and dive into a bush like a ninja. You creep closer to the breathing and peak out. There’s a man in a black hooded sweatshirt standing over something like a pile of clothes but it’s not, IT’S A BODY! You gasp. “Oh, my, god!” you whisper, immediately regretting speaking. The man turns toward your bush. You have to think fast; you could run and try to get help after you reach the mansion or you could call the police right now on your cell phone. You might even become a town hero! If you choose to call the police now, click here. If you choose to run and then find help click here.

  7. You pull your phone out of your pocket quickly and dial 911. You whisper to the operator, your voice shaking slightly “There’s a man in our woods and I think he killed someone.” The operator replies, worry coating her voice heavily “Stay calm, help will be there soon.” You sigh and put the phone away. The man has abandoned looking at the bush and is now digging a shallow grave for the body. You feel bad calling it “the body”. It was a person, you weren’t sure who but it was someone, not just a body. Whoever it was, you still feel that it’s not right to just call it “the body”. You then hear the sirens squealing down the road; you then see red and blue lights appear at the corner as the cars speed around the corner. The killer was caught! The End

  8. You decide to make a run for it. You jump out of the bush and start to run toward the mansion, you heart pounding against your ribs. The man yells “Hey!” he pulls out his gun and Then you hear a gunshot and you’re now tumbling toward the ground. You hit it with a thud. The town will now never know of the evil that lies in the dark woods. The End.
