Iroquois back then. By: Amaya and Mominah. Tribes. Mohawk-They got there name from the Kantian Khaki. Which means keepers of the eastern door. Seneca-This tribe got there got there name from the Iola which means keepers of the western door.

  2. Tribes • Mohawk-They got there name from the Kantian Khaki. Which means keepers of the eastern door. • Seneca-This tribe got there got there name from the Iola which means keepers of the western door. • Oneida-They got there name from the Onayotekaona. Which means people of the standing stone.

  3. Life of the Iroquois • Iroquois lived in Oregon where it had a lot of rain and cold and also windy. Farmers meant crops a lot of them.

  4. Deciding where to live • Iroquois resources was buffalo and crops and water the weather was kind of mixed. There food resource was corn cakes.

  5. Facts • Women had more power than men. • There favorite food was corn cakes. • Women tended crops while men hunted. • The Iroquois were mostly farmers. • It took them weeks to build longhouses.

  6. Compare and contrast The native Americans gave a lot of stuff away now we save our stuff. The native Americans supported there people we compete.

  7. I learned… • I learned that there are many different resources in different tribes that we don’t know about. • Different tribes have different cultures.
