VI Framework Programme FORESIGHTS DEFINITION Foresight can be defined as a systematic, participatory, future intelligence gathering and medium-to-long-term vision-building process aimed at present-day decision and mobilising joint action. VI Framework Programme FORESIGHT LEVELS Foresight activities can be carried out at a very general level of a priority thematic area (e.g. life science, genomics, biotechnology...) or one of its sub-priorities using the specific support actions or co-ordinated actions. This is specifically highlighted in the introduction to the priority thematic areas in FP6: „...consideration of...socio-economic impact of scientific and technological development and foresight, will where relevant form a part of the activities...
