SBA WBC Business Profile • SBA Women’s Business Centers serve a broad category of women owned businesses nationwide. • Small businesses with revenues less than $25,000. • Large businesses with revenues over $15 million. • Companies range from sole proprietors to corporations with over 100 employees. DC Women Owned Businesses • Over 50,000 businesses in DC. • Approx. 33% of businesses are woman-owned. • Approx. 5,000 or 10% of all businesses in DC are owned by women of color. • US Businesses Owned by Women of Color • 1.9 million firms are majority-owned (51% or more) by women of color in the U.S. • These firms employ 1.2 million people and generate $165 billion in revenues annually.
