  1. Growth and development of baby during Pregnancy In the 5th month, baby’s lungs start inhaling and exhaling. The length of the fetus now increases to 6 inches and touches its genitals now and by the end of the 2nd trimester, it increases up to 11 inches. Third Trimester: Now this is the 7th of the pregnancy and at regular intervals of time, baby’s daily activities come into existence. Like head grows bigger, closing and opening of eyes. Baby starts gaining its weight and accordingly fetus get 19 inches long and baby’s weight reaches up to 5 pounds. In the 8th month, baby sleeps most of the time and moves all the time in the mother’s womb. All the parts of the baby matures day by day and the hairs are getting long and in the last month i.e. 9th month, the lady is given the delivery date by the doctor. Now the baby’s length is approximately 20 inches. The position of the baby starts rolling inside and it takes it head down towards the canal to exit. These changes can be shown in pregnancy week by week stages and at last when the delivery period comes closer then the baby slips down to the pelvis and placenta detaches from the uterus and umbilical cord is cut which if cut down properly is useful in future to cure many diseases. Hence, these three trimesters are quite important to understand and accordingly the work load must be reduced and proper pregnancy diet must be provided to lady. • When a lady becomes pregnant, she needs to be very careful for the growth and development of her baby. Yet the genitals of the bay start forming but the sex of the baby is difficult to analyze. • Second Trimester: Cheekbones are developed and hairs start appearing in the 4th month. The movements of the baby can be felt by the mother. Baby now becomes able to savor the mother’s meal as the fetus develops taste buds.
