  1. How does the Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment Use Climate and Weather Data for Forecasting and Planning Purposes?

  2. A Sample Ozone Modeling Product Is Presented on the Next Slide. Ozone modeling, conducted by Environ and Alpine Geophysics for the Regional Air Quality Council and CDPHE in 2003 using the MM5 and CAMx models, shows high concentrations along the Front Range foothills.

  3. The Following Slide Provides an Example of Local-Scale Air Quality Modeling of an Industrial Source, With High Concentrations Near the Source and Aligned with the Axis of a Valley.

  4. The APCD Uses a Wide Variety of Forecast and Outlook Products

  5. A Sample Back Trajectory Analysis Is Shown on the Next Slide

  6. Color contours show the counts of back trajectory points for daytime transport to Fort Collins, Rocky Mt. National Park, Rocky Flats & Highlands Ranch for the summer of 2006.

  7. The Following Slide Shows the Hayman Fire Smoke Plume and the Response of Ground-level Ozone on June 9, 2002.

  8. Satellite imagery is key in analyses of specific air quality episodes. Smoke from the Hayman Fire caused significant reductions in ground-level ozone during the peak day of the fire.

  9. Reanalysis Data sets Are Key in Ozone Research

  10. How does the Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment Use Weather and Climate Data for Emergency Response?

  11. NARAC Modeled Plume Footprint for Dirty Bomb in Downtown Denver

  12. Climate Change & Global Warming Will Create Challenges for Public Health and Environmental Quality.

  13. How Does Colorado Work with Other States on Air Quality Issues?

  14. If a National Climate Service Existed, What Helpful Information and Delivery Systems Would It Include?
