  3. Preparing the Lumber for Lamination • Select 1 to 2.5 inch thick hardwood lumber • Stock should be 2.5 by 14 inches • Dry lumber only • Small pores • Plane the stock so it is smooth and parallel • Arrange the pieces for color pattern

  7. Cutting the Blanks Trim Both Sides on a Table saw

  8. Cutting the Blanks Cut the Lamination into 2.5 inch Square Blanks Glue First-cut Wedge onto the End

  9. Cut the Blanks Handle – 1.5 x 1.5 x 4 Shaft – 1 x 1 x 7 Rolling pin – 2.5 x 2.5 x 12

  10. Turning the Body Mark the Center of Both Ends

  11. Turning the Body Mount the Blank and Rough Turn

  12. Turning the Body Drill a 2 inch deep ½ inch Hole for Shaft

  13. Turning the Body Reverse, Rough, and Drill the Other End

  14. Turning the Body Mount the Blank on ½ Inch Pin Chuck Finish Turn to 2 ¼ Inch Diameter

  15. Turning the Body Check for Size and Flatness

  16. Turning the Handles Mount and Drill 5/8 inch Hole for Shaft

  17. Turning the Handles Use a Cone Center and Rough Turn the Handle True the End

  18. Turning the Handles Make a Jam Chuck to Mount the Handle

  19. Turning the Handles Finish Turn, Sand, and Apply Finish Lubricate Ends with Paraffin

  20. Turning the Shaft • Mount the Shaft with a Spur Drive • Turn Shaft to 5/8 Inch • Measure Handle and Mark for ½ Inch Section • Match Shaft End to Handle Body

  21. Turning the Shaft • Sand and Lubricate 5/8 inch Shaft Section • Turn Shaft End, Sand, and Finish

  22. Completed Handle Note Slight Protrusion of Shaft Body so Handle Can Spin

  23. Ready to Assemble
