Dr Joseph Markowitz - An Experienced Psychiatrist

Dr. Joseph Markowitz has strived for excellence from a young age, graduating from high school as valedictorian and from college with the highest honors. In addition to his extensive years of study in the field of psychiatry, Dr. Joseph Markowitz has also conducted research on autism, substance abuse, strokes, and organic chemistry, constantly seeking to expand upon his knowledge to better serve his patients. In 2005 Dr. Joseph Markowitz was awarded the Lebert Harris Psychoanalytic Award in recognition of his work in psychotherapy.

  2. Prisma Health Psychiatrist Dr. Joseph Markowitz’s passion for helping others has been a constant driving force during his time working as a psychiatrist for Prisma Health.

  3. Assistant Professor After spending his formative years studying psychiatry, Dr. Joseph Markowitz became an educator himself. Dr. Joseph Markowitz serves as an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the University of South Florida and has authored multiple medical journals on the subject.

  4. Research on Autism Dr. Joseph Markowitz has also conducted research on autism, substance abuse, strokes, and organic chemistry, constantly seeking to expand upon his knowledge to better serve his patients.

  5. A Journal Writer Dr. Joseph Markowitz, a psychiatrist at Prisma Health, most recently published a journal focused on nicotine addiction titled “Promoting Tobacco Cessation During Substance Abuse Treatment.”
