  2. Flat Character • A character that is relatively uncomplicated and does not change throughout the text • Not fully described by the author in a lot of detail

  3. Round Character • In fiction, a character whose personality, background, motives, and other features are fully described by the author • Characters that are complex and undergo development, sometimes sufficiently to surprise the reader

  4. Static Character • A literary or dramatic character who undergoes little or no inner change • A character who does not grow or develop (emotionally/mentally)

  5. Dynamic Characters • Characters that experience changes throughout the plot of a story • Although the change may be sudden, it is expected based on the story’s events

  6. Protagonist • The leading character or one of the major characters in a drama, movie, novel, or other fictional text • Usually an advocate or champion of a particular cause or idea

  7. Antagonist • A person or character who actively opposes or is hostile to someone or something • Stands against the protagonist
