Joshua Safeek is the founder and former Chief Executive Officer of Caricom General Insurance Co., Inc., serving in the role from the company’s formation in 1997, through to 2007. It is a general insurance company that offers a wide range of services and products to its clients, including bond underwriting to the insurance industry in Guyana. During his time with the company, Safeek took the premium income of the organization up to G$100 million over the course of ten years. As a business professional who has held leadership positions in chambers of commerce, in addition to founding a number of his own companies, Joshua Safeek understands how crucial good marketing can be, regardless of the size of a business.

  2. Joshua Safeek F.I.M.B., Inc. Joshua Safeek founded Fidelity Investment Merchant Bank (F.I.M.B), Inc. in 1999, working as the Chief Financial Officer for the company until 2010. F.I.M.B is a venture capital company that provided financing to a range of different industries, including commodities, real estate and minerals. The company is also a licensed money lender, in addition to being licensed to deal with precious materials as part of its work in the mineral sector. Safeek was involved in a number of important projects during his time with the company. During the course of his work as the Chief Financial Officer of Fidelity Investment Merchant Bank Inc., Joshua Safeek helped to finance a number of real estate ventures. After graduating with his High School Diploma in 1982, Joshua Safeek began focusing on a career in engineering. He received his Certificate in Management Skills for Engineering in 1985, following this up by obtaining his Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering a little under three years later.

Between 2010 and 2015, Joshua Safeek worked as the Chairman of Caricom Cement Co., Inc., which offered a range of services, such as cement manufacturing and infrastructural works. Under his stewardship, the company established the first complete, integrated cement plant in Everton, Berbice, Guyana. The company also developed the infrastructural works for the Republic Gardens Housing Development on the East Bank of Demerara. His industrial engineering expertise proved crucial in the role, especially in regards to making company processes more efficient. His time in the United States allowed him to develop a greater appreciation for other cultures and he has used much of what he learned during this period of his life in his business ventures in Guyana.
