  2. Agenda • Introduction • Objective • Transport Metadata Identification • Proposed process steps • To be continued • Questions

  3. Introduction • Who am I? • Why am I here? • What is the content of that presentation?

  4. Objective

  5. Transport Metadata Identification • What is a metadata? • Data about data or information about information • Metadata is structured information that describes, explains, locates, or otherwise makes it easier to retrieve, use, or manage an information resource • Approach used • To build upon existing standards and technologies used in that domain • To find what are the most common pieces of information used to transport data

  6. Transport Metadata Identification • Proposed process • Write down same basic statements in order to clarify what will be in and out the scope of the current work • Identify a list of candidate standards and technologies that are relevant to C-BML message transport • Study theses candidate standards and technologies in order to identify their metadata and to compare them • On the basis of that study, determine the list of C-BML Transport Metadata Must be validated as soon as possible

  7. Proposed process steps1 - Basic statements • Transport service has no knowledge about the meaning of the content • In order to deliver the message the minimal (i.e. required) metadata are: • Sender • Business message (C-BML message in our context) • List of receivers

  8. Proposed process steps1 - Basic statements • Guarantee of delivery of a message is another required metadata for C-BML transport • There will be some required metadata and some optional metadata

  9. Proposed process steps2 - List of candidate standards and technologies • FIPA - http://www.fipa.org/specs/fipa00067/SC00067F.pdf • SMTP - http://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc821 and http://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc5321 • HLA - http://standards.ieee.org/findstds/standard/1516-2010.html • DIS – http://standards.ieee.org/develop/project/1278.2.html • TENA - https://www.tena-sda.org/display/intro/Home Must be validated as soon as possible

  10. To be continued • 3 - Study of candidate standards and technologies metadata • 4 - C-BML Phase 2 Transport Metadata
