  3. Rural Living • People in the country were able to raise their own food. • Many men were forced to go to the cities to earn money. • Children had to work to help the family

  4. Urban Living • Children were often sent to live family in the country. • Families had to rely upon Government help.

  5. Importance of Family • Extended Family Helped Out the Parents. • Grandparents had a great influence on their grandchildren.

  6. Role of the Community • Everyone living in the community worked together. • Everyone in the community knew each other. • Everyone cared about each other.
