  3. The U.S.A. Flag The flag of the United States of America was first created in 1777.

  4. Betsy Ross Betsy Ross made the first American flag.

  6. Statue of Liberty The Statue of Liberty is a symbol of freedom. It was a gift from the people of France. Long ago, she was the first thing many people coming to our country saw.

  7. Statue of Liberty The Statue of Liberty holds a torch in her right hand and a book in her left hand. The book says “July 4, 1776”. That is the birth date of our country!

  8. Color the top stripe red, the next stripe white, then red until the stripes are colored. The background of the stars should be blue.

  9. The Pledge of Allegiance The Pledge of Allegiance is a promise to be true to our country.

The Pledge of Allegiance has a lot of meaning. It is a symbol of our freedom.

  12. The Star Spangled Banner The Star Spangled Banner is our National Anthem, our Nation’s song. It was written by Francis Scott Key in 1814. He watched a battle between England and America one night. He was so excited to see our flag still flying the next day, that he wrote this poem. It later became a song, our National Anthem.

  14. Liberty Bell The Liberty Bell is a symbol of freedom. It rang when the United States became a free country.

  15. The White House The White House is the home of the President of the United States. It is in Washington, D.C. Every president except George Washington has lived there. The President’s office is in the white house.
