  3. Vocabulary • Genocide - the deliberate killing of a large group of people, especially those of a particular ethnic group or nation. (gen- result of, cide – act of killing) • Holocaust – Greek origin “sacrifice by fire” • Perpetrator – a person who willingly commits an act, often takes the lead

  4. Vocabulary • Collaborator – a person who helps, usually willingly, with an enemy nation, especially with an enemy occupying one's country – “He collaborated with the Nazis during World War 2.” Maybe some do not know what is happening beyond what they can see. • Bystander– watching what is happening with knowledge of what is going on…without doing anything • Rescuer – a person who frees others from danger or evil
