  3. Objectives: • Provide access to the UPU international electronic remittance service • Ensure the high quality of services • Associate with postal account-based services

  4. Tariffs have been reduced by 30 to 50% and are now comprised between 2 and 4% • 61% more money orders in 9 months • New methodology applicable to other regions and projects

UPU – IFAD experience in Western Africa replicable in the Asia-Pacific and Central Asia regions Estimated impact: provide access to remittance and social payment services to more than 800 million citizens in underserved rural areas Potential countries: India, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan
