Goals and objectives • To provide Internet access to the institutions within the Academy of Sciences, Ministry of Higher Education and NGO in Tashkent city and two pilot provinces enhancing Internet backbone. • To provide training in the use of information technology and to promote a better awareness of Internet community worldwide of Uzbekistan and its R&D potential and cultural values Zagreb 22-25 September, 2002

Intermediate Outcomes • Project provided Internet access: • 48 Research Institutions of the Academy of Sciences • 21 High Educational Institutions • 12 secondary schools • 38 LANs and more than 400 dial-up users have got to connectivity to the backbone through 70 numbers modem pool. • More than 1200 pc’s have access to the network Zagreb 22-25 September, 2002
