  1. After you’ve read the required portions from the Wife of Bath’s Tale, read the Goodman of Paris’ letter and pgs. 100-1 from the textbook. • Next, consider the differences between the WOB’s and GOP’s opinions on marriage, relationships and feminism. • In groups of three or fewer, develop a script of an encounter between WOB and GOP. It can be an encounter on the street, at a wedding, at a dinner party… you choose the occasion! • During their exchange, the audience should clearly see their differences of opinion regarding marriage and women’s rights during the Medieval period. “WOB”/”GOP” Debate

  2. Your script will be at least three pages. • Your group will be acting this out. • You should have enough copies of this play for your group members and Tiller. • Your dialogue should be in line with what the WOB and GOP clearly think about male/female relationships. • Making references to the text helps! (WOB: “So, I was on this pilgrimage once, and…”) • Statements contrary to what WOB/GOP would probably say will hurt you. Please keep in mind…

  3. Above all, I want to make sure that you understand how much the two folks’ opinions differed. • Whose do you think was the prevailing view at the time? Please keep in mind…
