  4. Platform specific priorities • Solaris • Sun: 9970/9980, 9900, SE 6120/6320, SE 6130, SE 3510, SE 3511 • HP: XP 128/1024 • AIX • IBM: DS 4000, DS6000, DS8000, ESS800 • Sun: 9970/9980 • HP-UX • HP: EVA XL, XP12000/10000, XP 128/1024 • IBM: DS8000 • Sun: 9970/9980 • Linux • HP:EVA XL, XP 12000/10000 • IBM: DS4000, DS6000, DS8000 • Sun: 9970/9980

  5. EOL storage devices • 5.0 plans to EOL support for: • Sun T3/T3+ • HP XP 512/48 • HP VA arrays • HP EVA 3000/5000 in A/P mode • HP MA/RA and EMA • Hitachi/HDS 7700, 9200, 5800 • If not listed here or in the HCP, device status is TBD

  6. HCL availability schedule • Although 5.0 ships in mid-2006, no commitments for HCL have been made • The goal is to get the listed devices available as soon as possible • Do not plan around device availability until HCL commitments have been made • In late 2005, an HCP will be published for sales consumption on the expectations of availability • Qualifications will be marked as “Expected”, “Likely”, “Uncertain”, and “Unlikely”

  7. Other array vendors • Several array vendors are not listed on these priorities as they will do self-qualifications • e.g. 3PAR, Engenio, STK, NetApp • When qualification schedules are available, PM will communicate these plans • APAC specific vendors also have their own qualification plan through Japanese cLab • e.g. Hitachi, Fujitsu, NEC, Toshiba, Sony • When schedules become available in late 2005, we will include APAC specific devices based upon partner needs

  8. HBA/switch qualifications • Overall priority: • Consistent HBA/switch coverage across all platforms • Cover all critical Qlogic, Emulex, and HP HBAs • Cover all critical Cisco/Brocade switches • HBA/Switch prioritization: • Will be available on overall HCP • Generally, we will support all prior HBAs and switches still supported by vendors

  9. Adding/Re-prioritizing devices on the HCP • If you have a deal that requires a qualification not in plan, please do the following: • File a Product Action Request (PAR) at http://rampart.veritas.com/par • Contact Samir Mehta, PM for DMP and HW Interoperability • At all times assume a minimum of 1 month for qualification of a device • If you have a deal that requires a new qualification, raise the issue as early as possible • Depending upon the business case and ease of qualification, we may change the HCP accordingly
