Gerunds & Infinitives - 4 • Verbs of perception + gerunds: I saw my friend running down the street = I saw my friend while she was running down the street. • Verbs of perception + the simple form: I saw my friend run down the street. • Causative Verbs: Make + the simple form --> Mrs. Lee made her son clean his room.

Gerunds & Infinitives - 4 • Have + the simple form: I had the plumber repair the leak. • Get + an infinitive: The students got the teacher to dismiss class early. • Special expressions + the -ing form of a verb: have fun + -ing, have a good time + -ing, have trouble + -ing, have trouble + -ing etc. (page 189, Azar, Understanding & Using English Grammar)
