  1. The ABC’s and Then Some: A Case Study of a Future Educator By: Chelsea Grambo

  2. This is my certificate from the College of Education Induction Day. I am officially well on my way to becoming a teacher, one of the most noble professions around!

  3. This picture was taken at Kid’s First. Volunteering at Kid’s First was an incredible learning experience. Volunteering here, made me realize that I can learn as much from the children as they can learn from me.

  4. This picture was taken at the Winona Middle School 5th and 6th Grade Science Fair. It was a lot of work being a Science Fair Judge, but definitely worth it. I was very impressed by some of the experiments kid’s performed!

  6. This picture was taken here in Winona at a Habitat for Humanity build. I believe it is important to give back to the community and Habitat for Humanity is one great way to do this. Habitat is an organization committed to social justice and basic human rights and I am proud to be part of an organization with such sound morals. My experiences in this organization will without a doubt help me become a more well rounded individual and teacher.

  7. This picture was taken in Miami, FL for Habitat for Humanity Collegiate Challenge. For Collegiate Challenge, we build houses for families in need over spring break. This was the Winona State group after we finished roofing this house in one day!

  8. This picture was taken on Earth Day for Spruce Up Winona. One day I hope to teach middle school Science and our impact on the earth or our “ecological footprint” is one area I know I will cover. I cannot stand in front of a classroom and teach about our impact on the earth, if I am not trying my best to make my ecological footprint smaller as well. It is important to set a good example for my students.

  9. This picture was taken at a high school track meet that I volunteered at this spring. I am working towards a coaching minor and one day would like to coach a high school sport. I am a strong believer that being involved in athletics in high school helps you better prepare yourself for the future. Balancing school, athletics, and other extra curricular activities teaches you discipline, social skills and time management.

  10. These two pictures were taken at Cochrane Fountain City Middle School. For my Science 203 class, we were divided into groups of four and then had to devise a lesson plan with an Earth Day theme to teach the day after Earth Day. My group chose a lesson plan on ecological footprints and taught a sixth grade class. For being my first experience teaching out in the schools, it went great! Previous to SCIE 203, I had a Language and Communication Arts minor, but this class has changed the way I look at Science and I now have a Science minor. I cannot wait for future experiences at schools like Cochrane Fountain City!
