  1. INTRODUCTION TO RANGE Single Phase IEC and EATS Distribution Transformers

  2. INDEX • Range • Standard Features • Optional Features • Routine Tests • Type Tests • Why use ABB?

  3. RANGE • Single phase • 15kVA to 100kVA • Smaller kVA available on request • Voltage level - primary voltage of up to 36kV • Units manufactured to IEC, EATS or Special requirements

  4. STANDARD FEATURES • Sealed or free breathing tank • Hot dip galvanised tank • Lifting lugs • Rating plate and connection plate • Earth tag • Upper and lower pole mounting brackets

  5. OPTIONAL FEATRUES • Lid or turret mounted bushings • 2 or 3 wire arrangement • Internal HT fuses • Single or dual ratio • Off circuit tap switch or internal link board • Arcing horns • Surge arresters • Oil level on free breathing units

  6. ROUTINE TESTS • Each transformer produced is routine tested in accordance with IEC 76 • The tests performed are: • Winding resistance • Voltage ratio and phase displacement • Short-circuit impedance and load loss • No-load loss and current • Dielectric

  7. TYPE TESTS • Type tests are performed on each new design per IEC 76 • List of type tests performed • Temperature Rise • Impulse Test • Short circuit tests can be performed on request. This is a special test described in IEC 76 part 5.

  8. WHY USE ABB? • Manufacture complies with: -ISO9001 Quality system -ISO 14001 Environment Management System (Certification due Q1 2003) • Transformers are successfully in operation for over 50 years • Units designed using proven ABB common technology • Units can be optimised to suit particular loss requirements • ABB is a volume producer • ABB has experience of many specifications

  9. WHY USE ABB? • Short cycle times leading to shorter lead-times • The galvanised tanks ensure long life • Good quality and reliability • Pressure testing insures leak free products • Units have been successfully short circuit tested
