Bottom Line

This study reveals that even breast pathology experts struggle with reproducibility in diagnosing intraductal proliferative lesions, particularly in the ADH/limited LG-DCIS realm. The significance of ADH vs. DCIS has fewer management implications than UDH vs. ADH. Morphology alone is still heavily relied upon, but IHC can sometimes be helpful. When in doubt, send it out for consultation or share with colleagues.
