  1. Little Fishers Preschool 2011 Austin Parkway Sugar Land, Texas 77479 THE FISHING LINE Volume 5 Issue 6 A Monthly Message From The Director 02/05/2014 February and Valentine’s Day brings back many memories of my childhood. It’s always exciting to either purchase Valentines or make your own to give to family members and friends, classmates, and teachers. It was a special way to show people around me that I really cared. This month as we celebrate Valentine’s Day, we will share a special story with the children about Zacchaeus (Luke 19:1-10). Scripture tells us this was a life-changing event for Zacchaeus. God’s Spirit moved Zacchaeus to say he would give half of his wealth to the poor. When Jesus becomes part of our lives we are changed. Jesus is not only our best friend, but He is also our Savior, who gave His life for us. Such love moves us to love and forgive others. May what Jesus said to Zacchaeus be said of us, too. “Today, salvation has come to this house” (Luke 19:9). Our little fishers will be busy getting ready for the upcoming Valentine’s party making valentines, decorations, etc. Remember, your at-home project is making a Valentine mailbox with your child. Enjoy this activity with them! Our T/Th classes will have their Valentine parties on Thursday, February 13. Valentine parties for our M/W/F and M-F students will be on Friday, February 14. I hope the children enjoy sharing God’s love with their special Valentines they are sending to each other. Keep reading to see what else is “on the line”… WHAT’S COMING UP? I am pleading to all parents: please sign up to help with your child’s class games, help with set-up and clean-up, too. We also need many bakers for our Bake Sale to be successful. The Bake Sale sign-up is on the entry bulletin board. The games that your child’s class have been assigned have the Sign-Up sheet outside the classroom door. Thank you to the ones that have signed up already. The staff greatly appreciate all of your help. We want our carnival to be the best fun for our students, families, friends, and the community. If anyone is willing to donate an item or cash to the donations needed for the raffle, please come to see me or email, cathy@fisherofmen.org, Florence Tang, Event Chairperson at florence.k.tang@gmail.com, Ms. Kelly at kelly@fishersofmen.org, or Ms. Kristen at kbelbin@entouch.net. If your company would like to be a sponsor, please let one of us know. SAFETY ALERT! Please make sure you pay close attention to your speed in the School Zone. The parking lot has had some narrow escapes with children running into the street. Parents, please hold onto their hand while walking into the school and make sure to walk them all the way to the classroom. Also, please never leave your valuables in your car, including your children! We love your child and we are looking out for their safety. Thank you for your cooperation. Wear red or pink colors for our Valentine’s parties!! Please Remember To check your child’s folder each day for all of the notes from your child’s teacher and from the school administration. Progress Reports are going home this week. We work very hard to communicate the happenings at school and we want you to know everything that is happening around here! Don’t forget to turn in your Registration form for 2014-15! Classes are filling up quickly!
