  2. A.W.O.L. Alcohol WithOut Liquid

  3. A.W.O.L. A new device enables people to “snort” spirits. The Alcohol Without Liquid (AWOL) vaporizer is being marketed to night clubs, bars and private party organizers as a way to consume alcohol without calories or a hangover. It was introduced in the UK in February and in the US this summer.

  4. A.W.O.L. How does it work? The inventor: Adapted the vaporizer from oxygen machines used for aromatherapy and exercise purposes. The alcohol vapor is created by pouring a spirit into a diffuser capsule connected to an oxygen pipe. The oxygen bubbles are then passed through the capsule, absorbing the alcohol, before being inhaled through a tube.

  5. A.W.O.L. High Impairment, Low BAC The alcohol vapor bypasses the stomach and liver, and is absorbed through blood vessels in the nose or lungs. This creates a “hit” up to 10 times more potent than by drinking the same amount of alcohol.

  6. A.W.O.L. DANGERS! Professor Oliver James, from Newcastle University, said: "This will not only make you very drunk very quickly but is also likely to increase the risk of direct alcohol damage to the brain." "This could do irreversible damage to the nerves, lead to swelling and possibly lead to dementia in the long term."

  7. A.W.O.L. DANGERS! Medical experts say this new device which allows spirits to be inhaled could lead to brain damage.

  8. A.W.O.L. DANGERS! AWOL users could have a blood alcohol concentration well below the legal limit despite being far too drunk to drive. The potential of this device to impair driving ability while still allowing the user to pass a breathalyzer test poses a serious safety concern.

  9. A.W.O.L. Advertised as safe and the in-thing to do. Appealing to young people.

  10. A.W.O.L. HOW EASY IS IT TO GET ONE? Only $299 Plus $15 Shipping
