Description • Gives the Food and Drug Administration the authority to oversee food, cosmetic, and drug safety • Also prohibited the sale of mislabeled food and drugs and set standards for inspection of companies. • 1954: Pesticide amendment. • 1958: Food additives amendment. • 1960: Color Additive amendment. • Addressed environmental issues because the act dictates that a statement of environmental impact must be issued.
