  1. Choice Work! Who must submit a Choice Work? All 9th through 12th Grade PHHS Students must submit one choice work per grade level.

  2. What is a Choice Work? A choice work is an individually selected assignment a student chooses to submit.

  3. What Makes a Good Choice Work? • Well-defined • Not based on final grade • Demonstrate ESLR’s • Apparent Learning • Exhibit thought and consideration • Legible

  4. Well-Defined • Avoid scantrons – no way to tell what test was about • Avoid simple classroom notes or scribbled work • Exhibition panelists want to see work that is specific and detailed

  5. Not Just a Grade • Don’t submit “A” only work. • Focus on growth and learning. • Reflect on what you learned from work, not just what you received.

  6. Learning has Occurred • Submit work that shows learning • Focus on assignments that took time to figure out and apply your knowledge

  7. Careful Thought & Consideration • One piece means choosing carefully • Choose a piece that encapsulates your learning in the class • Pick the work you are most proud of

  8. Legible Work • If it can’t be read, it can’t be assessed. • Sloppy work may indicate not taking the Exhibition seriously – a costly mistake.

  9. ASK YOUR TEACHER! Teachers can suggest assignments that are great choice work submittals!

  10. Saving your Choice Work Option 1: You may save your Choice Work on the Naviance program. This is a safe place that will store your work until your Senior Exhibition day. At that time you would then display the assignment from a computer projecting it onto a pull-down screen in the classroom where you will be presenting. Option 2: You may keep your choice work at home then, when you are a senior, place it into your Exhibition Portfolio 3-ring binder for panel members to view.
