  2. Tuesday 1/5/10: Apostrophes • After the number #17 debacle from yesterday we are going to take a closer look at the “Apostrophe.” • Turn to page 351 and let’s read up on the proper use of the apostrophe. • Complete #’s 1-20

  3. Wednesday 1/6/10: Commas and Compounds • This is standard 31 on your monthly grammar test. • Turn to page 319 for review info (Yes, I want you to read). • Complete #’s 1-5

  4. Thursday 1/7/10: Sentence Types • Standard #14 each month. • Turn to page 19 to review the different types of sentences. • Once you have a better idea understanding of the different sentence types turn to page 22. • Complete Review C: Classifying Sentences #’s 21-30.

  5. Monday 1/11/10: Sentence Structure • This review will help with ?’s 24, 35 and 36 • We are working on recognizing different sentence structures. • Be sure to identify the clauses of each sentence. • Look for the subjects and the verbs! • Turn to page 151 and complete #’s 1-15.

  6. Thursday 1/14/10: Subjects • In order to really understand sentence structure we are going to back it up! • Turn to page 7 to review what a subject in a sentence is. • After your review please turn to page 9 and complete Exercise 3. You do not need to write the complete sentence.

  7. Tuesday 1/19/10: The Clause • What is a Clause? Once we know what a clause is we will be able to move forward on our quest to recognize sentence structure. • Please turn to page 119 in your grammar book. Review the clause. • Complete the Oral Practice on pg. 122. • Complete Exercise 2, #’s 1-5 on pg. 122.
