  4. Background • 2012 – 2013 DMAM working group surveyed campus re: digital asset management needs • Evaluated potential solutions • Selected Asset Bank • More about Asset Bank at http://www.assetbanksoftware.com/ • Pilot implementation includes MSC, ENG, IST and LIB

Process/Status • Downgraded from enterprise license due to cost restraints and desire to evaluate solution prior to full commitment • $25, 000 + support and storage fees to $8000 (includes 1 year support) and IST provided server and storage (initially 3 TB) • Software purchased December 2013 • Attempted installation in January 2014 • LDAT integration problem that required additional license • Resolved February 2014

  6. Process/Status • Initial/starting taxonomy confirmed and implemented February/March 2014 • On-site training March 2014 • Testing, troubleshooting, documentation and keyword/taxonomy management plan April – June 2014 • Estimated final report and recommendations September 2014

Installation details • Current license is shared with a single taxonomy • Views/access can be restricted by user groups • Additional metadata requirements handled by use of Keywords • Admins have full access to all assets • Current install limited to images only • Can accommodate video/audio/documents

  10. Key features • Download/export size options • Lightbox feature to share/email collections • Can share a lightbox with non-users on campus • Currently looking for solutions to share a lightbox with non-users off campus • Active/expired dates specification • Reports on activity and usage

Limitations • NOT WCAG 2.0 compliant • WCAG 1.0 compliant with active attention paid to resolving accessibility concerns • On-campus access only • IST currently evaluation modification to this to enable sharing assets with external audiences • Can also be re-evaluated at time of enterprise license install • Licensed for 50 users total
