  17. Roster Rules • A school must roster all players who wish to participate in that school's team. If the number of rostered players from that school is 15 or greater, that school cannot "claim" players from other schools. • If a team rosters 10-14 players from that school, they can claim 1 additional school and, thus, any players from that school • If a team rosters 9 or less players from that school, they can claim 2 additional schools. • (Teams must take all players trying out from their primary/secondary schools prior to any roster exception being permitted.)

  18. Roster Exceptions • The registration process is frozen on September 30. • After this freeze, any additional players from schools outside of those registered and “claimed” will be placed in a free agent pool. • The players from the free agent pool will be placed with teams based on geographic location. • Those schools with small rosters will get a preference in the allocation of free agents. • Would like to have all teams have a minimum of 15 players on their roster • All assignments of free agents will be at the discretion of the Registrar

  19. Roster Exceptions • NOT needed for: • Players who attend either your primary or secondary schools. (As approved by Board). • Players who live in your primary or secondary school clusters, but attend private school. • Needed for: • Players who do not live in your primary or secondary school clusters and are grandfathered (i.e played for that team the previous year • Goaltenders who do not attend your primary or secondary school

  20. Roster Exceptions • Exceptions must make geographic sense • Each Roster Exception is reviewed individually and will be approved / declined within seven days. • Releases are for a one year period and must be re-obtained to play on the same team. • Do NOT assume that a student at a school without out a team will play for your team, it must go through the registrar

  21. Playoff Exemptions • Exemptions will be limited • Players must play in 50% +1 game to be eligible for the playoffs • Goalies sitting on the bench and on the score sheet will be credited for the game.

  22. Playoff Exemptions (cont’d) • Injured players can be noted on the game sheet as “Injured” and if possible sign the game sheet to be credited for the game. • To be eligible for the playoffs, “Injured” players must submit a Doctors certificate.
