  3. Status at PSI • 70 l LXe at PSI, waiting 230 (+500) • Cost Separation • R&D and running: laboratory budget (60k$ for 2003) • Investment: special grant (FoKo) (request 1.3M$ in March) • Spending profile: 2003-2004-2005 (0.4-0.5-0.4) • Running and engineering costs should be included in funding • New member of detector Group (Malte Hildebrandt) • Detector group will do software for XYZ, but not pattern finding/track fitting • Request for 2 PhD students in March, need partners -> sensitivity calculator?

  4. Running and engineering costs • Electrical power (0.15CHF/kWh) per yearonce • Electronics (20kW) 13k • COBRA (250kW) 160k • Beamline solenoid (100kW ?) 65k • Engineering (Mechanics, Electricity, Design, Vacuum), 150k/PY • 6 PY for construction (…2004/5) 900k • 0.3 PY/year for running 45k • Gas/year 5k • Computing • Online cluster 30k • Tapes/year 20k • Offline analysis/year 5k 1.8MCHF 1.3M$ Total (3y running): 939k 930
